p4 syringe is a periodic glider-to-Herschel converter that was found by David Raucci and Louis-François Handfield in November 2021.[1] It consists of a bait block, an eater 1, a block on table (originally mold), and a large period-4 oscillator that is a weld of a high-clearance heavyweight emulator variant and a tub-with-tail eater (eater 5) variant. The input glider hitting the block triggers a honey farm explosion, which is perturbed by stable catalysts and two domino sparks to give a B-heptomino, releasing a Herschel and restoring the block.
The transient spark from honey farm reaction fades away before another glider 42 ticks behind the first one enters, but considering periodicity and removal of output's first natural glider, the infobox form of this device works for gliders separated by (60+4n) ticks. For lower periods, a suitable sparker should be welded in place of the eater 5, like an 53P13 for p52.[2]
