Trans-long4 hook with tail is a 12-cell still life.
Construction
This still life is known to be constructible with 6 gliders.[1] A 7-glider synthesis was found in March 2021.[2] A 6-glider synthesis was found in September 2022.[3]

Occurrence
- See also: List of common still lifes
Among still lifes with 12 cells, this is the fifth rarest according to Catagolue. It is the rarest 12-cell still life not to have rotational symmetry.
There are no collisions in octohash, octo3obj or octo3g databases with this still life occurring in the ash.
Isomers
This still life is comprised of the normally unstable long4 hook with a normally unstable tail attached. This is one of two possible isomers, named trans due to the corner part of the hook being farther from the tail; the other isomer, cis-long4 hook with tail, has this corner part slightly closer.
