p56 phi sparker is a period-56 phi sparker oscillator found by Period1GliderGun on March 9, 2024 based on a partial by cvojan on October 1, 2022. It is an R-pentomino hassler. The p14 sparkers used to support it are 34P14 shuttle and 42P14.
It is the second p56 phi sparker to be found, but the first (shown on the period-56 pi-heptomino hasslers page) has much lower clearance than this one.
The phi spark has been used to complete two of David Raucci's partials[1] and create a Snark64-based p56 gun[2] as well as a blinker factory.[3]
On March 10, 2024, Chris857 found a 47-glider synthesis for the p56 phi sparker.[4][5] On March 11, KtT reduced the cost to 44 gliders.[6][7] On March 13, Daniel Vargas reduced the cost to 42 gliders.[8][9]
