Centipede/Snippet

The centipede is a 31c/240 spaceship completed in 2014. It was created by Chris Cain later on the same day as the shield bug, and actually reuses most of its circuitry despite having a very different shape. Its smaller size is due to a more compact front-end that was built by Cain a day earlier.

It was the smallest 31c/240 spaceship until the appearance in 2016 of the caterloopillar's 31c/240 variant — which was in turn supplanted by the silverfish in 2020, the leaf bug in 2024 and the water strider and leaf bug 2 in 2025.
