Cap (or covered table) is an induction coil. It can be stabilized to form a period-3 oscillator; see candelabra for a slight variation on this.

Unattended, this evolves into an interchange.

Still lifes

There are two ways in which two caps can be arranged to create a still life:

x = 7, y = 4, rule = B3/S23 b2ob2o$obobobo$obobobo$b2ob2o! #C [[ THUMBSIZE 2 THEME 6 GRID GRIDMAJOR 0 SUPPRESS THUMBLAUNCH ]] #C [[ THUMBSIZE 3 ]]

In other rules

In tlife and other rules without S2i, cap is a period 4 oscillator. However, it will still act as an induction coil in the same way it does in standard Life.

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B3/S2-i34q 4o$o2bo$b2o! #C [[ THUMBSIZE 2 THEME 6 GRID GRIDMAJOR 0 SUPPRESS THUMBLAUNCH ]] #C [[ HEIGHT 400 THUMBSIZE 3 ZOOM 54 Y 0 GPS 2 AUTOSTART ]]
