Hugh Thompson was a Life pioneer who compiled the Life Codex in 1971 and, in that year, discovered a number of notable patterns, including cap, shillelagh, tub with tail, thunderbird, interchange, and a 4c/5 blinker fuse.
Thompson's Life Codex is a compendium of more than 23,000 images of then known patterns, including their life histories (successive generations), as described in detail in Lifeline Volume 8.
