What if Conway's Game of Life ended up being more popular since its inception? Here are my predictions.

Discoveries

• Sir Robin or a similar elementary knightship discovered by the late 2000s
• The first elementary camelship discovered by the early 2020s
• A Turing machine first completed by the early 1990s
• By this year, elementary spaceships of orthogonal speeds up to c/12 are all known

Software and other computer stuff

• Large databases of collisions and sequences will be made, allowing for actually meaningful prediction of starting patterns
• Mods for LifeViewer will exist

Miscellaneous

• Lifeline would still be running, probably under different management
