On Aug 14, 2025, Entity Valkyrie completed their largest nonstandard spaceship gun to date — the p131072 leaf bug gun. It was the first gun to fire a 31c/240 spaceship (a variant of leaf bug 2, and it was so large that it doesn't even fit into LifeViewer. It has a population of 16,225,032 (even more than the Caterpillar), and a bounding box of 1,097,252 × 829,150. The file for the gun can be found here.
For comparison, Entity Valkyrie's current second largest nonstandard spaceship gun, the p11040 spider gun, is 61.6× smaller by population and 3696× smaller by bounding area.

The original gun by Entity Valkyrie was made with the purpose of constructing an explicit gun for the leaf bug, and is far from optimized. The four diagonal arms were generated with the following method: send the glider stream into a series of highway robbers in StateInvestigator. This produces another salvo of gliders, which are perfectly positioned to be turned back into the original stream of gliders using edge shooter loops with the same spacing as the StateInvestigator highway robbers.

This method was able to generate functioning arms for all four diagonal directions. However, the result is far from optimized. This method produces an edge shooter for every lane, but the glider stream is so sparse that the majority edge shooter loops are empty. This means that the four diagonal arms are way too long — if all of the empty edge shooters were removed, these diagonal arms would be multiple times smaller.
After the original gun was complete, Hippo.69 was the one who proceeded with the task of reducing this gun. Over the months, this gun has been greatly reduced to the size of 68,686 × 54,002 (population 295,878). The file for the gun can be found here.
