Talk:Lisp in Life

Should the fact that it is ~20000 times larger than it needs to be[1] and implemented in a different rule in metacells be mentioned in the article? (This should make the pattern less notable, surely, anyone could find an existing CPU design operating in ideal logic gates (occupying unit cells and taking unit time) in a metacell for a rule with such logic gates, it doesn't use "analogue" mechanisms specific to Life in a novel way like the prime number calculators, and shouldn't be considered an accomplishment of similar degree, since anyone could convert a CPU made in WireWorld to such metacells.) In the past, scarcity (of available computing power) bred creativity, and this seems to lack both. DroneBetter, 2023-01-14T22:51:10

My opinion is that the notability is that it is the first higher level language implemented in Life. Would be great for someone to do such a thing with better technology and get their work duly recognized. Book (talk) 01:13, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
