Meaning

Just hit this random page and see these two new redirects. By "line of X" does it mean a standalone one-cell-thick pattern, or a part of other objects (still life or oscillator), or a leading edge of active regions? GUYTU6J (talk) 14:38, 3 December 2022 (UTC)

Irrelevant infobox parameters

The only reason why a separate dedicated page line of three might be warranted, is because "line of three" is not the same thing as "blinker". A blinker is a period-2 oscillator; line of three is a still life component. These are two different things.
The rulespace information for an oscillator is computed relatively easily (by looking in which rules the oscillator evolves in the exact same way). In contrast, I doubt it is useful to attempt finding rulespace info for a still life component -- as such, it is not supposed to be evolved on its own.
For the same reasons, parameters "apgcode", "synthesis", etc. are not relevant here -- a still life component is not on its own constructed by colliding gliders, etc. Confocal (talk) 16:28, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

But why does the pre-block have rule information, glider synthesis and identifiers?TYCF (talk) 16:26, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

That page does not list identifiers. Re: rule information / glider synthesis -- one difference is that the pre-block is described as "a common parent of the block", and it is mentioned that a glider hitting a pre-pre-block can produce a LWSS or MWSS. These are "evolutionary" properties. But the "line of three" is described as a period-1 part of an object, rather than an object by itself. (By itself, the same formation of three cells would be the blinker.) Can you find a way to construct tub trans-line tub by first constructing the two tubs, and then inserting the connecting three-cell line by colliding two gliders?
