C1 vs G1 vs asymmetric-soups

Why does this page refer to C1 census data instead of asymmetric-soups (C1+G1) census data? GUYTU6J (talk) 08:07, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

Good question. I have no good answer. Book (talk) 16:57, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
Do you think it should refer to asymmetric-soups instead of C1? If yes, why? See also Apgsearch#GPU searching. Confocal (talk) 17:28, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
At this moment we have 119 582 845 088 705 C1 soups and 235 141 138 094 702 G1 soups. Using the combined asymmetric-soups enables one not to miss some natural occurences, e.g. four out of five natural loafers. GUYTU6J (talk) 01:52, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
I am not convinced that G1 occurrences should be counted as natural. To me it seems better to avoid getting any nontrivial algorithms involved in the question of what counts as natural.
Also, note that the decision to choose C1 (as opposed to G1 or C1+G1) seems to appear consistently in quite a few places over the wiki. For example, Most common objects on Catagolue specifically says: "Note that only the C1 census is counted; G1 is excluded."
I think it is best to not change anything (i.e. avoid changing C1-only to either C1+G1 or G1-only) unless there are very good reasons to do so. Since this potentially affects multiple pages, any further discussion should probably continue on Tiki bar. Confocal (talk) 02:18, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
The question I asked above is for this page only. What makes G1 occurences not natural? GUYTU6J (talk) 02:48, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
The choice between C1 vs G1 vs asymmetric-soups affects not only this page, but also potentially affects other pages. I suggest to start a new discussion on Tiki bar if you have any further questions. Confocal (talk) 02:59, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
