Symmetrical synapse or mirrored synapse is a naturally-occurring 38-cell still life. Despite its size, it occurs relatively frequently in soup searches, especially in one-cell-thick patterns[note 1] due to a predecessor involving a beehive, a honey farm predecessor, and a traffic light.
