Simkin's p60 is a period-60oscillator consisting of two B60 conduits. It is the smallest known emu. Due to the fact that in order to directly liberate the first natural gliders the period must be 69 or above, two eater 5 variants must be used to suppress the FNG before it hits the next Herschel.
In other similar situations where the gliders must be removed even more quickly, a sparker such as the p6 pipsquirter can be used instead, but an eater 5 is much more compact and works just as well in this case. Using mazing to eat the gliders reduces the minimum population to 58 at the expense of increased bounding box, discovered by iNoMed in May 2023.[1]
