Pre-beehive is a common 6-cell parent of the beehive. It can be destroyed by an eater 1 in a reaction that is the basis of the dinner table oscillator and the buckaroo.
Three of the five tetrominoes form a pre-beehive, as do five other 4-cell patterns.
