Piston is a period-2 oscillator found in 1971.[1][2] Its usage is similar to that of the spark coil. It can be extended indefinitely along its axis, with varying degrees of dihedral symmetry according to its parity. Its rotors are used in the scrubber/piston agar.
Synthesis
gmc_nxtman found a 6-glider synthesis of the piston on July 26, 2017.[3]
