p5 diamond is a period-5 oscillator that frequently appears in 4-fold odd rotationally symmetric soups (C4_1). It has various seminatural stator variants. The form shown in the infobox is the most common form.
On September 22, 2024, pifricted found a 36-glider synthesis.[1][2] On December 17 in the same year Daniel Vargas reduced the synthesis cost to 32 gliders.[3][4] On December 18, KtT lowered the cost to 18 gliders based on another soup.[5][6]
