Oscar Cunningham is a Life enthusiast best known for creating and maintaining the Logic Life Search (LLS) search program, which uses a SAT solver to search for patterns in Conway's Game of Life and other cellular automata.

In 2022, Cunningham also constructed the first explicit example of an unsynthesizable oscillator in Conway's Game of Life, unsynthesizable oscillator 1, from an earlier result by Ilkka Törmä and Ville Salo.
