Oscar

Oscar is a simple script which can be used to determine the period of an oscillator, or the period and unsimplified speed of an oscillator or spaceship.

Versions of Oscar written in Python and Lua are bundled with desktop releases of Golly.

Unlike most other analysis tools, Oscar can only output the period and speed for still lifes, oscillators and spaceships - more advanced statistics are not calculated at all.
