The HighLife p10, for lack of a better name, is the most common oscillator in HighLife that doesn't work in Life, with about 1 in 430 oscillators being the p10. It is an orthogonal flipper. In B34w/S23, it is still a p10 with the same phases, but it rotates 180 degrees instead of flipping.

The pattern is one cell off in Life, with B6k being the difference. The pattern sometimes appears naturally in Life, but when the B6k cell fails to be born, it becomes two blocks spaced by (4,0).

x = 5, y = 4, rule = B36/S23 b3o$bo2bo$3obo$2ob2o! #C [[ THUMBSIZE 2 THEME 6 GRID GRIDMAJOR 0 SUPPRESS THUMBLAUNCH ]] #C [[ GPS 8 THUMBSIZE 2 ]]
The p10 often generates in pairs from this sequence.
