"Topologically identical"?

I'm curious, what do you mean by "a cube, an octahedron, or any shape topologically identical to these"? I assume that "topologically identical" might mean "homeomorphic in ℝ3" (in which case cubes and octahedra are themselves "topologically identical"), but what shape exactly are you referring to? If it's the convex hull of the pattern, then the statement is trivially true.

Do you have a reference for the DYK statement, perhaps? Apple Bottom (talk) 21:32, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

Even after your subsequent edit, I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean. Isn't an octahedron a "squashed and warped" cube, and vice versa? Please give a reference for this DYK item, ideally one with a more rigorous statement. Apple Bottom (talk) 11:16, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
