  • If Settings > Advanced > State Number is turned on, history trail cells and bounded grid edge cells in Generations rules will be displayed as state 0. This is unlike what happens in 2-state rules.

  • When using a rule with no history trail, Help > Info > Cells will omit Dead and DeadRamp lines for 2-state rules, but will still list these for Generations rules.

  • Help > Info > Cells will state that the "Basic" shader is in use for some rulespaces which does not support it.
    • Note the elevated history trail in this pattern, which should not exist at all were the Basic shader actually active.

  • Mousing over unloaded background cells directly to the right of boundary cells with State Number active will display them as [bounded] 0, rather than [bounded] 255 (as is the case for loaded boundary cells) or [dead] 0 (as is the case for all unloaded areas). This may be intentional.
