Doubled-signal toolkit

The doubled-signal toolkit (or period-doubler toolkit‏‎) is a toolkit first developed in early 2018,[1] whose basic purpose is to start with one glider and create multiple synchronized gliders.

The initial signal is sent through a syringe and an H-to-G0 labelled SW-2T21T103, giving two (doubled) gliders one after another with different mod-8 timings. Then these two gliders enters another syringe and a simple "spine", which is a chain of Herschel conduits (such as Fx77), to get a desired number of gliders. The actual doubled-signal toolkit is a set of 16 attachments to the spine that produce each of the sixteen possible colors and mod-8 phases of gliders. Each attachment includes a trombone slide to handle +/-8N timing adjustments.[2] These attachments use period-doubler, namely semi-Snark and semi-cenark, to choose one of the two gliders as the final output, hence the other name.
