The C-heptomino is a methuselah (by shifting the top-left cell of the B-heptomino one cell right) that evolves in the same way as a B-heptomino after its second generation and thus evolves into three blocks, two gliders and a ship after 148 generations. It was named by John Conway. Despite this, it can't be used with the BFx59H due to reacting in its predecessor form shown in the p54 shuttle.

Most B-heptomino sequences form from behind due to their c/2o mechanism, meaning that active parts of soups almost never reverse direction when they form. The C-heptomino is an exception, as it can form from any direction.

Conversion to glider

The vast majority of C-heptominoes have the same parent if dying sparks are ignored. This parent can be converted to a glider using a periodic catalyst in a way that a B-heptomino can't.
