BRx46B is a Spartan elementary conduit discovered by Michael Simkin on April 25, 2015.[1] It is one of the relatively few known conduits that can move a B-heptomino input to a B-heptomino output without an intervening Herschel stage. A "ghost" B-heptomino shows the output location.
BRx46B can connect to itself to make an extensible diagonal chain with the signal moving at a speed of (11,11)c/46, which is only slightly slower than the speed of the glider[2] (the speed difference is c/4 - 11c/46 = c/92).
| An Lx318 Herschel conduit consisting of HLx86R, RF28B, a chain of four copies of BRx46B, and a BF20H stage. The block left by the BF20H stage is removed by the leading glider emitted by HLx86R. The conduit can be extended by adding an even number of copies of BRx46B (click above to open LifeViewer) |
