Year of discovery 2015

34P5H2V0 is an unnamed 2c/5 orthogonal spaceship discovered by Matthias Merzenich on August 8, 2015.[1] It is the unique 34-cell period-5 2c/5 orthogonal spaceship and the second smallest such spaceship after 30P5H2V0, which it visually resembles.[2]

Glider synthesis

34P5H2V0 was first synthesized in 52 gliders by vilc on July 12, 2025, based on a final step by Goldtiger997.[3] At the time, it was the smallest known unsynthesised spaceship. The synthesis was reduced to 48 gliders by KtT that same day.[4] On July 13, Goldtiger997 simplified the final step which reduced the cost to 40 gliders.[5]
