34P20 is a period-20 oscillator found by Charity Engine on October 8, 2022.[1] In terms of its 34 cells, it is the smallest known non-LCM-based p20 oscillator. It is also the first non-trivial p20 oscillator to appear in a symmetric soup search, with all previous p20 examples consisting of non-interacting p4 and p5 rotors.

Tanner Jacobi found a 23-glider synthesis of this oscillator on the day of its discovery,[2][3] while Carson Cheng found a 22-glider synthesis shortly after.[4] A reduction to 21 gliders was found in March 2023, by constructing xs16_4a9la4ozx121 in 5 gliders instead of 6.[5]
