25P8 is a period-8 oscillator found by Carson Cheng on September 25, 2023.[1] It consists of an unnamed object with two singular killer toads as catalysts. The rotor is a flipper, and the entire oscillator can be made one, but the version with the minimal stator is asymmetric.
The oscillator first appeared in a symmetric soup on October 3, 2025 by siffrin normal (same person as Open Science Grid) in a rotationally symmetric dimer form, with the second copy replacing one of the two toads.
