204P41
204P41 is a period-41 oscillator found by Nora Brown on July 21, 2023, and is the first period-41 oscillator to be discovered.[1][2] Its discovery proved that Conway's Game of Life is omniperiodic.
It was originally found as 208P41, and the blinker eaters were quickly reduced by two cells each. It was the smallest known period-41 oscillator until the discovery of p41 pi-heptomino hassler.
Four copies of the dependent reflector loop can be used to stabilise the vex.[3]
Chris857 and Evin found a 106-glider synthesis of 208P41 the day of its discovery.[4][5] The synthesis was reduced to 104 gliders several hours later.[6][7] On September 21, 2024, the cost was lowered to 100 gliders.[8][9]
On June 24, 2026, Chris857 found a 118-glider synthesis of 204P41.[10][11]
