The 14c/65 reaction is a reaction in which an R-pentomino interacts with a spark and reappears 14 cells orthogonally displaced after 65 generations. It was discovered by Martin Grant on August 28, 2013. Soon after, it was noted that the reaction can be chained and turned into a p150 wick using the phi spark it produces.

Later, Martin Grant found fenceposts for the wick, a pair of p150 R-pentomino factories at the source, and a pair of eater 1s at the end, towards which the R-pentominos move.
