Tarantula is a c/5 orthogonal spaceship that was discovered by Frank Everdij on January 8, 2025.[1] It is tied with spider for the smallest known c/5 orthogonal spaceship at 58 cells; the spider was found first.
The smallest known 2c/10 orthogonal spaceship can be made by adding an 8-cell glide-symmetric component found by Bullet51 on October 6, 2015.[1][2]
