86107 is a period-107 oscillator found by Mitchell Riley on September 18, 2023.[1] It is the first known engine-based period-107 oscillator (all previously known oscillators of this period were closed tracks made out of conduits). The oscillator features two R-pentomino descendants hassled by four blocks and eight eater 1 still lives.

With minimum population of 86 cells, it is the smallest known oscillator of this period, beating the 136-cell p107 rectifier loop.

Chris857 found a 33-glider synthesis of the oscillator on the same day.[2][3]
