84P199 (or p199 R-pentomino hassler) is a period-199 oscillator found by Mitchell Riley and ljkiernan1 on July 6, 2022 using a symmetric variant of CatForce. While its original 248-cell form (using eater 4 as a catalyst)[1] does not produce any useful sparks, its reduced form with 200 cells[2] (shown in reference), in addition to later versions, happens to function as a pipsquirter. Despite having relatively low clearance, the spark can still be used to form LCM oscillators.[3] It has since been reduced to its 104-cell form[4] and then to 84 cells.[5][6] It is currently the highest known prime-period oscillator that does not rely on glider or signal loops, surpassing 74P127 which was discovered just four days earlier.
