Very long barge (or long long barge) is a barge that is extended by a length of two. This can be repeated to make a long^3 barge, long^4 barge, and so on.

The very long barge is extremely rare compared to the long barge, by a factor of 12,000. This is in contrast to the regular barge versus the long barge (7.5×) and the very long barge versus the long³ barge (4×).

All strict still lifes with a population of 23 or fewer cells, all oscillators with 16 or fewer cells, and all spaceships with 35 or fewer cells are known to be glider-constructible. A glider synthesis of this object can be found in the infobox to the right.
