Turro is an isotropic non-totalistic cellular automaton first discussed by Majestas32 in February of 2018. It differs from Just Friends (B2-a/S12) by two transitions: a cell next to two other cells such that they form a line of three dies, and a cell can be born from three other cells placed diagonally adjacent to it. Otherwise, cells survive if they are next to one or two other cells, and are born from two neighboring cells such that they are not orthogonally adjacent.
Patterns
The rule is notable for containing two distinct strictly volatile rotating oscillators, one of period 88 and the other of period 92, although these do not meet the strict definition of an RRO because they are not loopable; it derives its name from this fact. It also contains an extremely common failed replicator from which many types of objects can be engineered.
