115P106 is the smallest known period-106 oscillator, discovered by Nico Brown on October 1, 2022.[1] It consists of an unnamed active region being hassled by two traffic stops, two catalysts that are present in AK94, and four eater 1s.
The active region is mentioned without a name in Lifeline Volume 8, page 5.
A 60-glider synthesis for 115P106 was found by Chris857 on the next day[2] which was then improved to 58 gliders.[3] Chris857 also synthesized a smaller and cheaper variant that has two fumaroles at both ends;[4] they remove blinkers with their domino sparks, but increase the overall period to 106 × 5 = 530.
