Templates can be inserted into pages to easily produce frequently-required text or information boxes. This page catalogues some of the most useful and frequently-used templates on LifeWiki.

Linking templates

  • Template:Alsosee - used at the top of a section to link to an article on a related subject
  • Template:Cells - creates a link to a category for patterns with a certain number of cells
  • Template:Disambiglink - used at the top of a page to link to the disambiguation page with a certain name
  • Template:For - used at the top of a page to link to other articles with similar titles
  • Template:Gliders - creates a link to a category for patterns constructible with a certain number of gliders
  • Template:Main - used at the top of a section to link to an article which contains more detailed information on the same subject
  • Template:PatternsFoundBy - lists all of the patterns with LifeWiki articles found by a certain person
  • Template:Period - creates a link to a category for oscillators with a certain period
  • Template:PeriodS - creates a link to a category for spaceships with a certain period
  • Template:Slcells - creates a link to a category for strict still lifes with a certain number of cells
  • Template:Year - creates a link to a category for patterns found in a certain year

These templates are intended to be used inside the "External links" section of an article. However, some of them can also be used for citing the respective website with the format=ref parameter.
