Rake-based dirty breeder (it makes both still-lifes and gliders)
It does this by glider-constructing a B-heptomino.

This thread is for breeders that are based on glider synthesis.

This isn't breeder. It is just dirty puffer. Its population is growing linearly, not quadratically.

I know. I called it a breeder because 1) It is neither a rake nor a puffer (like the gilder-laying switch engine) and 2) I thought a breeder meant any object that spawns other objects.

No, a breeder is any object which spawns other objects which then spawns other objects.

Pattern A is called breeder if it produces during its evolution copies of some pattern B which continously produces some pattern C. Example of breeder is Breeder 1 (pattern A) which is group of high-period rakes constructing infinite number of Gosper Glider Guns (pattern B) and every gun produces continous stream of gliders (pattern C). Your pattern produces B-heptominoes, but they aren't producing anything coninously. They produce some blocks and gliders, but then they stop producing anything. If pattern A has infinite growth, then it is breeder if and only if (expect some cases like spacefillers) pattern B itself is infinite growth when isolated from pattern A
