Here's a reaction between a trio of gliders and an elevener and block psuedo still life which yields a switch engine. I posted this in thread for accidental discoveries the other day but I feel it would be more relevent on this one.
Code: Select all
x = 22, y = 15, rule = B3/S23
2bo$obo18bo$b2o11b2o3b2o$13bobo4b2o$13bo$11b3o$7b2obo$7b2ob2o5$13bo$
12b2o$12bobo!
Also, another pattern of mine which creates a glider producing switch engine.
Code: Select all
x = 25, y = 27, rule = B3/S23
10bo$10b2o10$18bo$18b2o5$o2bo$b3o5$23bo$24bo$23bo$20b3o!
Or in an alternate form with a significantly larger bounding box.
Code: Select all
x = 90, y = 91, rule = B3/S23
87bobo$87b2o$88bo34$62bo$60b2o$61b2o11$64bobo$64b2o$65bo30$6bobo$6b2o$
7bo4$4bo$5bo$o4bo$b5o!
I included the latter because, the collision between the first glider and the MWSS was how I origionally discovered the switch engine, I just added the other 3 gliders to get rid of the r pentomino and blinkers near it which would kill it if left unchecked.
