idk if this belongs to oca or scripts so I'll put it here js in case
so like I was watching this video on light simulations and I was wondering how to make it so it's not energy preserving so I thought that maybe have it round to the nearest value, but first lemme explain how it works so basically a cell has four orthogonal neighbors and every cell is at a spectrum of brightness from 0 to 1 and brightness means higher height on the light sinewave and the cell goes to the average of all four neighbors and goes to it by a velocity, and if a cell is heavier then the velocity is divided by how much heavier the cell is from a normal cell, and I was thinking that maybe I'll have there be 6 cell types, 0, .25, .5, .75, 1, and an adder. a cell goes to the average of all it's neighbors, rounded to the nearest allowed value, and then the value will be rounded again to 1, or 0, and .5 nothing, adders add the value behind it to the one infront, modulo 1
also now that I think about how do you move adders
