Does this mean that Golly will lose ruletable support?
Anyways, here’s a suggestion for iPad golly, since this thread probably fits better.
I would really like to be able to add folders to Golly, for easier organization. It seems like even with the manual way, Golly prevents you from opening the folder (unless you leave the app and open again, and then it will open, but that’s clunky). Is there any reason for ths?

No, it supports table data that's inside a .rule file, so if you have a .tree or .table file it should be quite easy to create a corresponding .rule file, assuming you have a decent text editor. See Help > File Formats for details on the contents of a .rule file.

Yes, that would be nice. I'd have to replace the existing Save dialog with a more sophisticated one that allows creation of new folders (these would have to be inside the existing Saved folder). I think newer versions of iOS provide a dialog with that capability. I'd also need to modify the Open > Saved window to check for subfolders and provide arrow buttons to open/close them (like in the Supplied window). Is that what you want?
The good news is that I'm now using Claude to help make changes to Golly's iOS code. Saves me heaps of time because it knows a lot more than I do about iOS and Objective-C (which has a horrible syntax I can never remember).

When will the iPadOS version of Golly gain the ability to run scripts?

Sorry, not likely to happen any time soon.
