It do copy the subject. It seems like the post in the question was moved.

Sometimes, a post may belong better in another thread and/or a topic is no longer needed.
I was not the one who moved these. Maybe you can try asking the mods.

and that's why the thread that the message is in should be displayed, not the subject arbitrary string

this is a forum

forum consists of threads that consist of messages

if you want to display latest message in subset of threads, you'd logically display the thread it is contained in - instead some arbitrary string that's been attached to the message is shown
