change the pattern (4D)

here are the rules:
  • add or remove one cell or transition. (b3/s23 -> b3/s23-i) or (2o$2o -> 2o$o)
  • no undoing what the previous person did
  • resulting pattern must be interesting
  • One post per person per day (seems like the mods would like it this way)

i will begin:

this is a block

Code: Select all

#R✨b3s23
2o$2o!
this is a 4-way chaospuffer

Code: Select all

#R✨b2a3s23
2o$2o!

BATTLE OF THE CHECKERBOARD.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = B1c3/S23
b2o$3o!

checkers closely confine chaos circle (-S3i)

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = B1c3/S23-i
b2o$3o!

Unfortunately, I can't do much interesting stuff now, but I can change a cell in preparation to remove B1c:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B1c3/S23-i
bo2$b2o$3o!
(We could also try adding S1e for a zebra stripes rule. D1e is a relativistic transition in zebra stripes rule, meaning that we need S1e to have a stable zebra stripes rule.

Honestly, let's go for it. Here's a blinker predecessor.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B3/S23-i
bo2$b2o$3o!

Heh, TWO boats:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B3/S23-i
2o2$b2o$3o!

Heh, FOUR boats:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B34z/S23-i
2o2$b2o$3o!

61gen diehard:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 6, rule = B34z/S23-i

i feel like with one more change of the rule, we could get a nice oblique spaceship (+S6c)

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 6, rule = B34z/S23-i6c
b2o2$2b2o$b3o2$o!

First spaceship:

Code: Select all

#R✨B34z/S2-a3-i6c
b2o2$2b2o$b3o2$o!

...but it went backwards.

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34z/S2-a3-i6c
b2o2$2b2o$b3obo2$o!

and then it went forward again (+1 cell at 5,-2)

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34z/S2-a3-i6c
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo2$o!

+1 transition (S3i) so that there is no more spaceship emmission:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34z/S6c2-a3
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo2$o!

adding B4r creates a dirty replicator

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34rz/S2-a36c
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo2$o!

Fixed the replicator with B6i:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34rz6i/S2-a36c
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo2$o!

Removing S2-a gives a cool p24 oscillator.

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 6, rule = B34rz6i/S2-n36c
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo2$o2bo!
pretty nifty huh?

Adding a cell in the far west:

Code: Select all

x = 22, y = 22, rule = B34rz6i/S2-n36c

your post breaks the rules as it does not add any new content to the table. we will rewind to this point, and i will allow you to post again within this 24-hour period. the next time you break the rules, you won't be given this mercy.

I hope that we could turn this R into something like a spaceship:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 6, rule = B34rz6i/S2-n36c
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo$6bo$o2bo!

Acknowledged. The main reason I have added the dot was to try to add an interesting pattern in another place. (I guess we can only have 1 pattern for now, until we make dots survive, re-add gliders by removing B4r, and make sure that our reaction emits a glider. The definition of interestingness is subjective, but I agree with tommyaweosme that adding a random cell far from the pattern is boring.).

I have made a different move; this time I have changed the rule to make a 568-generation methuselah and add a p24 and a p12 oscillator:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 6, rule = B34krz6i/S2-n36c
b2o2$2b2obo$b3obo$6bo$o2bo!
The oscillators:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B34krz6i/S2-n36c
bo$3o$3o!

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 3, rule = B34krz6i/S2-n36c
b3ob3o$o3bo3bo$b3ob3o!
