Can you implement ideas for LifeViewer animations inside a profile picture?
• They are a replacement to giffer.lua for profile pictured.
• The height can be customized from 64 to 256.
• The width can be customized from 64 to 256.
• Use fallback profile picture if profile picture LifeViewer can't launch.
• The LifeViewer is a thumbnail with HIDESOURCE and is in the same place as the (fallback) profile picture.

How would you set your profile picture to one?

UCP > Profile > Edit avatar.
Below the "Upload from your machine" file form, there is "Upload RLE from your machine" file form. You can upload RLE files as animated avatars using this form.

This is kind of tangential, but there were some interesting options that came up a few years ago when LifeViewer almost kind of started getting implemented as a Lua script. I was able to borrow some of Chris Rowett's code and create animated gifs that looked like LifeViewer (or like Golly).

I wonder if an animated-gif exporter might be a reasonable request for the LifeViewer backlog? (Or it might already be there.)

Full disclosure: I don't have any control over the phpBB software that runs the forums. Only Nathaniel has access to change that around. I'm kinda skeptical that Nathaniel is going to want to spend time doing a custom rework of the profile animation system, since it really isn't broken as it currently stands. But you never know, I suppose!
