Yet Another Rule table...

My B-day's coming up soon (less than a month), and I was wondering if someone could make a table for a rule called "Brailife". The rule is seen in the CA software "Cellab", and the General behavior (5 live states) goes like this:

States 1 and 2 are just like Brian's Brain (1 is live, 2 is dying)
Cells of State 4 are foreground Life cells
Cells of State 5 are background Life cells
Cells of State 3 Act as a medium between the BB cells and the Life cells.

Advanced behavior:
Cells of State 4 can only exist inside the state 3 cells.
State 4 cells are created when the BB cells pass through state 3 cells.
If a state 4 cell leaves the state 3 area, it becomes state 5.
State 5 cells cannot interact with the BB cells, and Vice Versa.
State 4 cells can interact with the BB cells, and in some instances may destroy the BB cells.

Um...let's see:

There should be a heading like this:

Code: Select all

n_states:6
neighborhood:Moore
symmetries:permute
The actual transition rules follow something like this:

Code: Select all

0,0,0,1,1,2,2,3,3,1
This means that to change a cell of state 0 to a cell of state 1, the cell must have two 0-neighbors, two 1-neighbors, two 2-neighbors, and two 3-neighbors.

To state that it could be any of a particular subset of cellstates, do something like this.

Code: Select all

var a={1,3}
0,0,0,1,1,2,2,3,a
This means that the neighbor in particular can be either state 1 or state 3. This tends to shorten documents.

You could do something like this:

Code: Select all

var b={a}
var c={a}
As long as it has no spaces, you can name the variations anything:

Code: Select all

var whatiswiththisthing={0,2}
To comment, use something like this:

Code: Select all

# Comment goes here.
You will need to define the rule a bit more, as the way you word them is a bit confusing.
