Added two catalysts to the first one. Still failed, but at least all the catalysts survive:
Code:
Select all
x = 25, y = 23, rule = B34tw/S23-c7c

The census
b34tws23-c7c/ror_stdin_test collects some known objects from Conway's Life that still work in this CA.
I think there are no alien still lives. Not counting S7c, all other survival conditions are a subset of Life's survival conditions, and the birth conditions are a superset of Life's birth conditions; this means having S7c in some 3-by-3 window is the only opportunity for an alien still life.
The condition S7c (an alive cell with seven alive neighbours and one dead diagonal neighbour) cannot appear in a still life, because in that case each of four alive orthogonal neighbours will have at least four alive neighbours, which forces the current condition of each of those four cells to be S7c. Continuing the same reasoning repeatedly for every cell whose condition is forced to be S7c, one is led to the conclusion that the current condition of every cell in the universe must be S7c. That implies all cells are alive, and that also implies some cells are dead (S7c specifies one dead neighbour); contradiction.
edit 1: here is a p16 oscillator (a glider predecessor hassler), probably known:
Code:
Select all
x = 16, y = 16, rule = B34tw/S23-c7c

edit 3: a few more reactions, including the beehive eating the p6 spaceship, an useless reaction where eater 2 interacts twice, and an eater1-assisted one-time glider shifter (replacing the eater 1 with a block makes an one-time glider duplicator)
Code:
Select all
x = 130, y = 23, rule = B34tw/S23-c7c

edit 4: a periodic (p10) eater for the p6 spaceship, found while trying to find a reflector
