apgluxe freezing when trying to connect to Catagolue

If the system is connected to the internet, apgluxe can get stuck on uploading or peer-reviewing forever if it tries to connect to Catagolue and the server does not respond. There is no mechanism to stop apgluxe or continue searching if the Catagolue server times out. Not having noticed this issue before, I presume the issue involves macOS Big Sur 11.2.1.
