I also would like to add these below:GUYTU6J wrote: January 1st, 2021, 7:00 am
- The collection of Rule 110 simulators in outer-totalistic rules, by Peter Naszvadi, FWKnightship, Layz Boi and yours truly

Stylistic separation? (I don't know what I'm talking about.)
More importantly, and which would be good to mention, these were the first relativistic adjustable spaceships.lemon41625 wrote: January 1st, 2021, 8:51 pm [*] Ship bouncing between 2 ships (WildMyron, viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3081&hilit=adjusta ... 00#p101606)

I suggest every nomination to include at least a brief introduction, similar to that of POTY.Naszvadi wrote: January 3rd, 2021, 11:41 am First of all, it is rather difficult to classify, to categorize results, so I think deadline for nominating from 2020 will be open till 01/March/2021 at least; Because someone "silently" promoted me to an organizer. Implicit meaning: co-organizers are kindly welcome and appreciated due to the large amount of results from 2020.
Other ideas:
- I suggest quoting someone who mentioned a result earlier if it intersects with a new proposal and likely needs splitting/grouping.
- Opening post won't be updated with the listings just like in earlier years; a new topic will be opened instead when entries become finalized
I can help you organise it (like I did last year, AKA take over the whole thing if you forget). oh yeah i disabled smilies because 8) grNaszvadi wrote: January 3rd, 2021, 11:41 am Implicit meaning: co-organizers are kindly welcome and appreciated due to the large amount of results from 2020.

Overall I love what you've done with these, thank you so much on behalf of everyone who wants this competition to run promptly and smoothly! These are just suggestions, and don't feel like you have to include any of them if you don't want to...
I might be biased, but I object a) checkerboard oscs/ships were notable patterns, while cross rockets are notable rules without notable patterns, so they should not be combined.A for awesome wrote: January 10th, 2021, 12:18 amThank you so much for doing all this, your effort is so greatly appreciated! A few things:
a) I'm not sure about putting all the HROT discoveries into one nomination, since they're very disparate discoveries and only really unified by the ruleset they occupy. I might suggest making Crystal Chaos and AlmostLife their own individual entries and then combining the checkerboard oscs/ships and the cross rockets into an "oscillators and spaceships in new HROT neighborhoods" entry.
b) Minor suggested edit to the LeapLife entry: "a near-Life rule with a diverse array of natural oscillators, p22 and p24 tech, and a tiny knightship"
They can have a collective nomination: "Symbiosis development in 2020, including..." especially nice if an article could be published, featuring the developments for those who didn't bother going through the suddenly-long Symbiosis thread, similar to what I'm gonna do for LeapLife.silversmith wrote: January 15th, 2021, 10:57 am I would think "Symbiosis" the rule is not eligible, while any discoveries/development from 2020 is. For example the drifter signals or quadratic growth seem eligible for nomination.

The entry title should be something like this: Minimal state Totalistic/OT/asymmetric hextile-CA that simulates CGoL with small unit cell or there is an injective transition-function-morph mapping to its cellstates (meaning "1x1 sized unit cell") This also would be a fun challenge to minimize number of states per symmetries in the future!Naszvadi wrote: January 1st, 2021, 12:43 pm ......

OK, For entry No.8 - Paul Tooke published 9c/28 ship synth earlier and Sokwe found colour/path changing/preserving glider turner oscillators I used in the gun. Both discoveries are from many years before, but the gun strictly depends on them.bubblegum wrote: January 26th, 2021, 3:24 pm If anybody who contributed to one of the items wants to be credited, just tell me here or ping me on the Discord.

My remarks on other entries related to W110/Turing (in)completeness mania: Definiately mentionable that even FWKnightship's rosary Rule-110 unit cell simulations - so-called cycles, which emulate W110 on consecutice glider streams "has the same strength" as unit cells when simulating infinite W110 rule patterns that periodic excluding a finite area! Why? Because in most cases infinite daisy chains can be constructed via feeding each heads' input with an others' output! This is a trivial observation and only needs to know that in every such known pattern, there is at least one right angle glider turner.
Do you mean replacing this:
to this:2) B2n3/S23-q (LeapLife), a near-Life rule with a diverse array of natural oscillators, p22 and p24 tech, and a tiny knightship, by Hunting
Still needs some sentences but not more than 2-3, as it was proposed by Sokwe in the PotY 2020 Nomination Thread. A summarizing entry seems to be a good idea due that even native English speakers find challenging summarizing, text compression, sorting on relevance and importance. IMHO for certain rules like LeapLife, if it had a dedicated topic, a summary post would be fine - not necessarily the opening post in order to avoid mess.
