Any interesting B1e rules?

Post by hotdogPi »

From what I understand, B1e is like B2a: everything will explode unless carefully engineered not to. (B1c will explode no matter what.) However, we know of several interesting B2a rules, the most well-known probably being Seeds. Are there any B1e rules where we know several nontrivial non-chaotic patterns?

(I'm saying nontrivial because some rules, like B1e/S23, allow creating hollow boxes, and anything inside them is guaranteed not to explode.)

Here's a small section of a soup evolved to show this rule's typical dynamics (vastly different and yet similar to Moosey's).

While Moosey's has more Day-and-Night-but-with-wickstretchers-galore-style with areas of dead cells that refuse to let the B1e take over, mine sort of simultaneously encourages and discourages B1e growth, creating B1e-style chaoticity that fade into the fluid dynamics of the negative.

The orthogonal corners show standard replicator-bombing of static areas that expand them and feed them chaos which subsides into stability (if the inverse rule were interesting the B1e rule would probably not have any kind of satisfactory dynamics). The SW is boring, the NW shows the criss-cross typical of this rule, the SE shows the nice "void" style of this rule I really like, and there is a spacefiller managing to move at lightspeed through the live-cell barrier, cool. The NE caught my attention drawing rippling banners through the live sea.

i just realised i'm terrible at explaining rules lol EXPERIMENT!

You might want to see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4002
Everything after post 28 is pretty much junk (sorry if that's an insult to the posters) but there's some good stuff before that
I might return someday. Don't count on it though.

There are 3 closely related B1e rules in Catagolue, one from that other thread:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B3-q4z5y/S234k5j
2b2o$b2o$2o!
