Traffic light challenge

In regular Life, the T-tetromino evolves into a traffic light, and the blinkers are four cells away from the center.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = Life
bo$3o!
But here, they are five cells away from the center.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = B34e/S234e
bo$3o!
And here, they are eleven cells away from the center.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = B34a5e/S234eitw
bo$3o!
But we can do better. Here, they are seventeen cells away from the center.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = B3-y4ce5i6n/S235a6k
bo$3o!
Can you do better?

This is trivial for rule tables; you can just make some extra states that fly really far out at c/2 only to be caught by photons sent out after a very long time

What about for 2-state isotropic rules?

22 cells

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 2, rule = B34y8/S23-kq5y
3o$bo!

22 cells! How did you find that?

Just hunting random rules where TL is a failed replicator
It also has a 21c/71 puffer

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 3, rule = B34y8/S23-kq5y
5o$2bo$b3o!

Please let me know if you find one where the T-tetromino becomes this. I've tried to no avail!

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 11, rule = Life

Edit 9: 17, please let this work...

Edit 10: 18, feeling really nervous and on-edge now...

Edit 11: 19, even more nervous now...

Edit 12: 20 generations deep, please work out...

Edit 13: 21 deep, feeling a little bad about this.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B2n3-cn4ktyz5ackn/S23-kqr4w5aey6acn7e8
bo$obo2$3o!
Edit 14: I did it! Adding B5y will cause the megawolf to have another small predecessor, but at the cost of making it explosive.

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 42, rule = B2n3-cn4ktyz5ackn/S23-kqr4tw5aey6acn7e8
3o$2o$b2o18$bo$3o$obo$bo16$bo$bo$3o!
Edit 15: While looking for alternative pathways that could come from the T-tetromino, Nature showed me their own way of making megawolves. Lack of B3j means that Life's T-tetromino parent and grandparent don't work, but lack of B3j also allows this to work instead.

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 2, rule = B3-jn4ktyz5acekn6n/S23-kqr4entw5aey6an8
3bo$3o!

This isn't exactly what the original post meant, but two synchronized bakery predecessors with the correct spacing yield an expanded traffic light (with the blinkers centered seven cells from the center) in ConwayLife.

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 10, rule = B3/S23
2bo$3bo$bo2bo$3o$bo2$6b3o2$5b3o$6bo!
Is this the maximum spacing obtainable from a reasonably common-ish (including non-engineered) reaction in ConwayLife?
