During my recent research of cyclical multistate rules, I've discovered an extension of Life with 3 different colors, which tends to explode into something that looks like randomly growing seashores, therefore I called it Sealife. Each color by its own behaves exactly like the regular Life. The following rules are added, if different states collide:
1. A cell of a certain state is born, if surrounded by 2 neighbors of the same color and 1 neighbor of a different color.
2. A cell survives, if surrounded by 4,5 or 6 neighbors, unless they are all of the same color.
Here is an example of the "seashore" behavior:
Here is a extremely simple pattern that evolves into a seemingly chaotic dirty puffer:
A pattern that turn into a funny animal-looking still life:
1. A cell of a certain state is born, if surrounded by 2 neighbors of the same color and 1 neighbor of a different color.
2. A cell survives, if surrounded by 4,5 or 6 neighbors, unless they are all of the same color.
Here is an example of the "seashore" behavior:
Code: Select all
x = 10, y = 9, rule = Sealife
